The very beginning of my art journey:
This is the very first commission I've ever have done. Back in 2016 when a was just starting out my art journey to become a better artist.
It is for a hospital in Askøy Community in Norway, these drawings are for a the pediatric ward/care ward. I came in contact with the hospital through my mother who is educated in health and works for Askøy Community.
She had happened to tell them in a conversation that I was an artist, and by chance they were looking for someone who could help them decorate their children's ward.
I made four pieces for them, four children's illustrations in A3 format and got my very first paycheck as an artist. Even though it was not something I could get rich from, I was very proud to have actually managed to find and carry out my very first art commission.
I'm still proud to have been able to help someone with my art, and somewhere you need to start. You have to start somewhere, you will never be completely ready so it may be wise sometimes to just push yourself into it.
What is your very first art commission, how did it go, what did you learn and what did you manage to make? Share it here if you want, let me hear your start on the path of art...
